This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Juhll, Inc., doing business as Juhll AI Film Studio ("the Studio", "we", "us" or "our"), collects through juhll.com (the "Site"), our quote process and our email, and how we use and share it. For client projects, a signed MSA, SOW or NDA also governs the materials you share with us. Our Terms of Service apply to your use of the Site.
1. What we collect
- Your name and email (quote page, step 1). When you click Continue on the first step of our quote page, your name and email are saved to our customer database (Airtable) right away, even if you do not finish the rest of the brief.
- What you type into the AI brief helper (optional). If you use the brief helper, the text you enter, and the text of any public web page you ask it to read, is sent to a third-party generative AI service to draft a suggested brief. Our server keeps only a usage record (the time, a scrambled version of your IP address and the size of the request), not what you typed. The draft is saved only if you use it in the brief you send.
- Your project brief. The brief is a Tally form. Your answers (for example, company, project type, format, timing, budget range, references and notes) are stored by Tally, copied into our Airtable database and emailed to us. Tally also emails you a confirmation.
- Emails and files you send us. Messages and attachments sent to juhll@juhll.com (Microsoft 365).
- Client project materials. If you become a client, the scripts, footage, images, logos, product details, releases and other materials you share, which we store in Box.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our host (DreamHost) keeps server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time. Our quote and brief helper forms keep short-lived, scrambled IP records to stop abuse. The Site also remembers in your browser if you turn off the home page intro.
- Analytics. The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and buttons are used (for example, clicks on Get a Quote and completed briefs). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects device, browser and usage data, including your IP address. See Section 5.
We do not use advertising pixels on the Site.
2. How we use it
- To respond to you, prepare a quote and follow up about your project by email.
- To draft a brief with the AI brief helper, when you ask for one.
- To research your brief, including with third-party generative AI tools, to understand your business, audience and competitors, check fit and conflicts, and scope pricing.
- To perform client contracts, including production, delivery, invoicing and record keeping.
- To run, secure and improve the Site and to prevent misuse of our forms and the brief helper.
- To meet legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not add leads to a marketing or newsletter list. We do not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run the Site and our business:
- Service providers: a third-party generative AI service (the brief helper), Tally (brief form), Airtable (lead and brief database), DreamHost (web hosting), Microsoft 365 (email), Box (client project files), Google (Google Analytics) and third-party generative AI tools we may use to research briefs or, under a signed SOW, to produce your project. Embedded video players (YouTube) and the Tally form may also collect data when you use them.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
- Legal and safety reasons, if the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
- A business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of the business.
- Anyone else you ask us to share it with.
Each service provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control them, and we cannot promise that a provider deletes data on any particular schedule or never uses it to improve its services. Their own terms apply. Please do not put scripts, trade secrets or other people's personal information into the quote form or the brief helper.
4. How long we keep it
- Leads, briefs and related emails: about 2 years after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Contracts, invoices and tax records: as long as the law requires, generally about 7 years.
- Client project files and production records: as set out in the client's contract.
- Server logs and data held by service providers: according to their own settings and terms.
We may keep information longer if we need it for a legal claim or a legal obligation.
5. Cookies, analytics, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
- Cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. Embedded services such as YouTube and Tally may set their own cookies when they load. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Do Not Track. The Site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals. Other parties, including Google through Google Analytics and embedded services such as YouTube and Tally, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site.
- Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Your choices and rights
Anyone can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about them. Email juhll@juhll.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will confirm the request comes from you (usually by replying to the email address we have on file) and respond within 45 days. We will ask our service providers to delete copies where their terms allow. We may keep information we need for a contract, a legal obligation or a legal claim, and we will tell you if we do. We offer these choices to everyone, whether or not a particular privacy law requires it.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, such as access controls and keeping private data and keys outside the public website. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Children
The Site is for business users 18 and older and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
9. International visitors
The Studio is based in California, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you use the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with data protection laws, you can use the rights in Section 6, and you may also contact your local data protection authority.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we will also give notice on the Site.
